Another True Blood hook-up

Another of our favourite vampires seems to be off the market – True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard (who plays Eric) has reportedly been hooking up with co-star Evan Rachel Wood since she guest-starred in True Blood season two as Sophie-Anne Leclerq. According to Perez Hilton, an on-set snitch on Alexander’s new movie says Evan flew into Louisiana last week to spend the weekend with Alexander. We can’t help wondering what’s in the water on the True Blood set – Alexander and Rachel are following in the footsteps of True Blood lead stars Anna Paquin (Sookie) and Stephen Moyer (Bill), who’ve been dating since they started working on the show in 2007, and recently announced their engagement. Harry Potter star Emma Watson is making a good impression on her new classmates as she starts her studies at the prestigious BrownUniversity in Rhode Island in America. The British star tried hard to blend in with fellow first-years when she reported for the university’s orientation programme wearing simple denim shorts and a white T-shirt. The UK’s Daily Mail reports that Emma arrived on campus in a helicopter, which (if it’s true) wouldn’t really be the best way to blend in – but since then she’s been a big hit as she spends time getting to know the campus and her new friends. She recently said, “I do hope that it will be only a short time before I am known as ‘Emma Watson, the student from the UK’ rather than ‘Emma Watson who starred in those Harry Potter films.’” We’re sure you’ll charm them all, Emma! New York goes SATC-crazy

Our favourite TV foursome is creating chaos on the streets of New York City as filming continues on Sex and the City 2. The high-fashion sequel started filming last Tuesday (1 September), with Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Chris Noth (Mr Big) seen filming scenes. But things got really out of hand when Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha) started filming on Thursday 3 September. The UK’s Daily Mail reports that when Cynthia left her trailer to head to the on-street set, the crowd of fans and photographers grew so rowdy that her security people had to usher her back into her trailer. We can’t wait to see what happens when all four ladies finally film a scene together! Sex & The City 2 opens at cinemas next May. PS: if you don’t want possible plot spoilers, stop reading now! Though the plot is being kept under wraps, rumour has it Carrie and Big will hit marriage problems – but may also have a baby, as various British actors (including Katie Price and Victoria Beckham) have auditioned for the role of a British nanny. Katherine Heigl leaves Grey's (for a while)

Is this (finally) the beginning of the end for Katherine Heigl and Grey's Anatomy? Entertainment Weekly reports that Katherine will be missing from five episodes of Grey's Anatomy's sixth season (starting later this month in the US) because she'll be working on a new movie. Her break follows a recent talk show appearance in which Katherine moaned about the show's 17-hour work days.
ABC president Stephen McPherson was not amused by her little outburst and publicly reprimanded her. But she was still given permission to go off and film the romantic comedy Life as We Know It. Hmmm... are the producers giving in because they're scared of losing her, or because they just can't stand the drama any more and are preparing viewers for Izzie's eventual departure?

Sex & The City 2 stars filming!

Sex & The City fans, rejoice! The sequel to last year’s hit comedy started filming in New York City on Tuesday (1 September), with Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) photographed wearing two stylish outfits and one 80s nightmare combo (for a flashback scene in which Carrie arrives in NYC for the first time). Also on set was Carrie’s lead man, husband Mr Big (Chris Noth).
Carrie and Big were seen filming a lovey-dovey scene on the streets of New York, both dressed in white. No sign of the other three S&TC ladies yet, but it can only be a matter of days until we see new pics of all four filming their scenes! Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but there are hints that the sequel will see cracks developing in Carrie’s marriage to Big – possibly brought on by financial problems related to the recession, which is said to hit millionaire Big quite hard. Whatever the story, we’re so there! The Sex & The City sequel is set to be released May 2010, so just a few months left.

SABC3’s Survivor screw-up

We can't believe how SABC3 messed up the final of Survivor: China on Monday night! Apparently the big boo-boo was due to "human error" and, according to the grapevine, someone pushed the wrong button – oops! For those who still want to catch the full finale, SABC3 will air the complete show on Sunday 6 September at 14:00.

MJ: case continues

The Attorney General of California is launching another investigation into Michael Jackson's death, according to gossip site TMZ. "The investigation comes at the request of the LAPD and will focus on several doctors connected to Jackson," TMZ reports. Although the attorney general's office is not naming the doctors facing investigation, it's likely that Dr Conrad Murray, the doctor who was in the King of Pop's house when he died and is alleged to have supplied Michael with several prescription drugs, is going to find himself in a big spot of bother very soon.
