Mischa Barton told Time Out New York why her mom eventually had her placed under psychiatric hold, starting with the constant pain from botched surgery to remove her wisdom teeth. "I went through a tough spot where everything was happening to me at once. The show, travel and then this fairly routine surgery that went wrong – it’s still just healing. But I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work. So it’s been a nightmare. I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. I got completely stressed-out and couldn’t handle everything. I’m not sure I’m capable of a full-on nervous breakdown, but it was pretty bad. It didn’t last that long. It was more about the pain. I have a newfound respect for people who have chronic pain. I started getting migraines."

Former Men in Trees star Anne Heche is feeling less than gracious about paying her ex, Coley Laffoon (father of their seven-year-old son Homer), spousal support, even though she divorced him after having an affair with her co-star James Tupper. Chris Brown sentenced for beating Rihanna

Chris Brown has been sentenced to six months of hard labour (including scrubbing away graffiti and washing cars), completing a 52-week domestic violence course, five years probation during which he may not own weapons, $5 000 in fines, and a $400 donation to a domestic violence fund. He is also not allowed any physical contact with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, who he was convicted of beating, for the next five years. The judge also warned that’s she’s been hearing talk of the two reconciling and if they do, Chris will be in violation of his probation and will risk a prison sentence. Michael Jackson’s death ruled a homicide

The Los Angeles County coroner has ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide because autopsy results show he died from a lethal overdose of the anaesthetic propofol, according to the Los Angeles Times. That spells trouble for Michael’s doctor Conrad Murray, who’d been dosing him with propofol every night for six weeks to counter insomnia. The Times reports Dr Murray stated he’d been trying to break Michael’s propofol addiction, and had administered a number of other powerful sedatives including valium and lorazepam to him the day of his death. Reality star accused of murdering wife found dead

Ryan Jenkins, the reality show contestant accused of killing his wife, Jasmine Fiore, then removing her teeth and fingers before stuffing her battered corpse into a suitcase and dumping it in the trash, has been found dead hanging from his belt inside his motel room closet in Canada. CNN reports that Jasmine’s body was identified by the serial numbers on her breast implants. The Vancouver Sun reports that Ryan was dropped off at the motel by a mystery woman who booked the room for him for three days, then left after 20 minutes. The motel’s manager found him dead when he checked in on him on the third day, by which time he’d been dead for a while, judging by the smell. Ryan’s body was identified by his fingerprints. Ugly Betty won’t be hiring former American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, anymore. Entertainment Weekly (EW) reports Third Rock from the Sun’s quirky Kristen Johnston will be stepping up as Mode’s new temp, Helen. “I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul,” Kristen joked to EW. Newspaper fakes Twilight star's interview

Attention Twilight fans – that interview in which Robert Pattinson told the UK’s Daily Mirror he didn’t actually have a girlfriend? Totally made up! RPatz’ rep told the GossipCop site, “Robert did not speak to the Mirror, and their claim that they spoke to him a few days ago is manufactured along with any information that they claim to have as an exclusive.” Mwa ha ha!

The Mirror quoted Robert as saying, “I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t know why. You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens. You sit there and you’re like ‘I’m a big movie star and I want to go out with some models’, but I don’t know why that doesn’t happen. It’s especially different in L.A. Most of the women there are actresses, and by default that makes them a little bit nuts – not that that’s a bad thing.”

Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a finalist on the VH1 reality show Megan Wants a Millionaire (still on air in America), is wanted by the police after the body of missing Playboy rep/stripper Jasmine Fiore was found dead. The body was found stuffed in a suitcase popped into a dumpster. Ryan reported Jasmine missing on Saturday, but has since vanished himself. According to the LA Times, Jasmine’s mother told police Ryan and Jasmine had been dating at the time of her death, while Megan told TMZ Ryan and Jasmine had recently got married. McSteamy nudie tape hits the net

Lawyer for Grey’s Anatomy’s Eric Dane, is frantically trying to get a sex tape off the internet which features McSteamy himself, his wife Rebecca Gayheart and a second woman, singer and ex-Miss Teen USA-turned-Hollywood Madam (according to Gawker) Kari Ann Peniche, in a naked, drugged-up, three-in-a-bed romp. Mr Lawyer isn’t denying the tape exists, but he’s insisting to TMZ that it’s private property and throwing it to the internet wolves is theft. Good luck with that − the tape was still up on Gawker on Tuesday morning. Kari told TMZ no sex was involved when the tape was made two years ago, the three were just naked together.

Robert Pattinson is dating one of his Twilight co-stars – at least that’s according to 90210 actress Jennie Garth, who’s married to Twilight’s Dr Carlisle Cullen, actor Peter Facinelli. But, the New York Daily news and Perez Hilton who reported it, have the wrong end of the stick. She didn’t say he was dating either Nikki Reed or Kristen Stewart at all!
Radar Online reports she told the New York Daily News, "I can't say; that will be breaking my promise to my husband - but I do know." On Twitter, Peter claims the entire story was a fabrication and that what she really said was, "My husband talks to me about Twilight stuff, but I promised him I wouldn't talk about it." But the good news first –Twilight’s adorable Alice was seen smooching Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford at LAX airport on 10 August by the nosy parkers at TMZ. Eyes, closed, swoony and romantic kissing. But some internet users have seen a lot more of Ashley than that! America’s People magazine reports her lawyers are threatening to sue sites (including Egotastic) that posted nude pictures of Ashley from a mystery source. "The photos in question, which appear to be of our client, are illegal and are being unlawfully displayed. Our client intends to take legal action." Carlisle Cullen dishes on Eclipse

Peter Facinelli, otherwise known as Cullen Dad Carlisle, chatted to the UK’s OK magazine about the Twilight film coming up AFTER New Moon, Eclipse. He revealed that most of the cast would have to learn to fight for the film. “We start rehearsals tomorrow. We have two weeks of rehearsal and then a week of fight training. What happens in Eclipse is that Victoria (now played by Bryce Dallas Howard) comes back, and builds an army of newborn vampires, which are freshly bitten vampires which are basically blood-crazed, and she’s trying to get this army to come after us so that she can get to Bella, and so we team up with the werewolves to attack all these newly-bitten vampires.” So expect big action.

Rob & Amber have a daughter

Survivor and Amazing Race stars Rob (33) and Amber (30) have joined the “mommy and daddy” race. Amber gave birth to the couple’s first child together on America’s Independence Day holiday on 4 July. Baby Lucia Rose Mariano was named after her dad’s grandmother Rose, who died on 4 July. “Lucia is a great eater and sleeps a lot, however she tends to be a bit of a night owl like her daddy at times. She is a perfect baby and we could not have asked for anything more. We are over the moon with happiness at her arrival!" a delighted Rob told America’s People magazine.

Jude's babymama isn't Rachel's sister

Jude Law’s new babymama isn’t actress Rachel McAdams’ sister Kayleen, as some sites are reporting. The woman in question is actually 24-year-old American model Samantha Burke. Samantha’s rep sent the following message to TMZ: "Ms Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr Law and that she has informed Mr Law that she is expecting his child later this fall. Since informing Mr Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms Burke and the pregnancy."

The UK’s Daily Mirror claims the baby’s due 6 October and that Samantha plans to name her Sophia. Jude’s 13-year-old son Rafferty was also born 6 October, so it seems Jude likes to ring in the new year in a very special way.
