Chace out of Footloose

Chace Crawford has dropped OUT of the Footloose remake. Entertainment Weekly reports Chace, who was originally brought in after Zac Efron backed out of the role, probably had to drop out because of conflicts with Gossip Girl’s schedule. GG is going back into production in July, with shooting on Footloose now due to start around June/July. Director Kenny Ortega also dropped out earlier, claiming exhaustion after working on Michael Jackson’s This Is It. Craig Brewer, who directed Hustle & Flow, will step into Kenny’s shoes.

Hurrah for Neal McDonough

Deadline Hollywood reports that ex-Desperate Housewives star Neal McDonough was dropped just three days into his new series, Scoundrels, and replaced by Jag’s David James Elliott, because he refused to do heated love scenes. Neal, who’s married to ex-South African model, Ruvé Robertson, has refused to steam up the screen in Housewives, Boomtown and many other projects. The man sticks to his guns – but boy, does he have to pay for it.
