Former American Idol Judge Paula Abdul didn't wait long before publicly responding to the news that talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is set to replace her on the hit show. “American Idol is a fantastic show that offers an invaluable platform to young talent. Ellen DeGeneres is wildly funny and talented in her own right,” Paula said in a statement. “I wish her and the show only the best of luck.” Later, Paula added on her Twitter page: “I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol.” But was Paula really as thrilled as she seemed publicly? Perez Hilton reports that a source close to the Fox network says Paula was “very upset” when she heard the news about Ellen's deal. Not only did she have to hear about it on the news like everyone else, but she had apparently also been hoping a last-minute deal could save her relationship with the show.
